THE X5's rear luggage area is accessed by a horizontally split tailgate, while 60-40, double-folding split rear seats are standard. The X5 is able to contain 465 litres of luggage with all seats in place, increasing to 1550 litres with seats folded. A cargo retention net is standard and an optional slide-out rear floor is also available. The lower tailgate section is able to support loads of 200kg, while the luggage area itself is able to carry loads weighing up to 460kg. The tailgate is opened by electromagnetic touch-control latches.
