CHRYSLER has doubled its Australian range of 300 sedans to four with the arrival of its only V8 models, a two-pronged performance pair of SRT sedans aimed squarely at the local hotrod sedans.
Released in SRT – the 8 has been dropped – and SRT Core editions, the pair are on sale in Australia before any other market, including the United States, with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles now leaving SRT as the domain of the Dodge .
The pair have risen in price but the impost is offset by the inclusion of the transmission it has long needed, Chrysler's version of the eight-speed auto from ZF.
Slight increases in power and torque from the big V8 accompany the eight-speeder's arrival, as does the inclusion (in the top-spec model at least) of active safety systems and interior infotainment upgrades.
