RACK and pinion steering, with power assistance, is standard on both PT Cruiser models although there is a difference in the turning circles between manual and automatic models, and with the two-wheel/tyre combinations. The system is well weighted from the driver's perspective and is not over-assisted to the point it becomes vague at cruising speeds.
