CITROEN Australia has launched updated four-cylinder and V6 petrol variants of its C5 range.

Joining turbo-diesel models launched in February, the petrol range starts from$39,490 for either sedan or wagon versions using a 2.0-litre engine and a five-speed manual transmission.

A four-speed automatic with pseudomanual shift mode adds another $2500.

A 3.0-litre V6 paired exclusively to a six-speed automatic is also available, starting from $55,990.

Standard equipment runs to Citroen’s height-adjustable Hydractive 3 suspension system, seven airbags (including a driver’s knee airbag), climate-control air-conditioning, electronic stability program, automatic headlights (active Xenon on the V6), 16-inch alloys, automatic windscreen wipers and a tyre pressuremonitor.

Mechanically, the new Euro IV 2.0-litre petrol engine develops 103kW at 6000rpmand 200Nm at 4000rpm.

The five-speed manual C5 has a top speed of 210km/h and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 9.1 seconds.

The auto-only 3.0-litre V6 features variable valve timing and develops 155kW at 6000rpm and 290Nm at 3750rpm.

The V6 has a top speed of 230km/h and will accelerate to 100km/h in a claimed 8.6 seconds.
