Daewoo paid particular attention to the impact-absorption qualities of the Lanos' front end. The dash panel has a tie bar which aims to reduce the potential intrusion of components into the cabin, particularly in front-on and frontal offset collisions. The rear seatback is reinforced to minimise the risk of injury from flying objects in the cargo bay. A "safety-pack" option includes ABS brakes and dual airbags. The front seats have an anti-submarining steel base to prevent occupants sliding down into the front of the car in the event of a crash. The front doors are designed to move outwards and overlap the front edge of the rear doors, preventing them jamming in the event of a frontal collision. The front seatbelt buckles are mounted on the seats and the upper anchorages are adjustable, helping improve the fit of the seatbelt. The front seatbelts have pretensioners and webbing grabbers.
