THE Lanos' high seating position provides many drivers with a commanding view over the dashboard. Front seats are covered in an attractive cloth fabric but would benefit from more under-thigh support. The front passenger seat does not have a slide function, making entry and egress to the rear from the kerbside more difficult. The rear back rest is high enough to provide adults with reasonable comfort but under-thigh support is limited. The rear seat back angle was set at 20 degrees on all Lanos models to maximise passenger comfort. The front seats have a stronger frame than predecessor Cielo pews. The seats were developed to ensure occupants of different shapes and sizes were comfortable, with particular attention paid to weight distribution. The front seat foam and springs were improved to isolate vibration through the seat frame. Interior trim materials were designed to meet stringent US regulations (FMVSS 302) with regard to flammability.
