Sydney show: Edag gets serious

THE Australian branch of the German design and engineering outfit Edag revealed its Show Car #8 concept car, based on the Smart Roadster, at yesterday's Sydney motor show opening.

While it aims to show that Edag can create a "completely" new vehicle by redesigning exterior components, it was exhibited alongside a bulletproof Audi A6.

The A6 Security is claimed to be able to withstand fire from weapons up to 9mm.

The vehicle was designed in Germany, however, Edag is setting up a centre for protective systems in Melbourne – the first of its kind outside its home country.
