FERRARI has the problem that all car-makers want.

Such is the romance, prestige and reputation of the prancing horse brand that demand far, far outstrips the globally-capped supply. The deliberate limitation of numbers catalyses the desirability of one of the Italian brand’s models and so the cycle continues.

Sign on the line for a 488 GTB today and you won’t see your little piece of Italian motoring royalty until 2018 and its the same for the new Spider version.

The drop-top 488 has the same monstrous turbo V8, rear drive, chassis stiffness and arresting good looks of the GTB but why would you stump an extra $56,900 over the coupe and join the queue?
