FERRARI has announced that its first front-engine V8 has sold out until 2011.
The folding-hardtop California convertible seems to have defied the global financial crisis with a bulging order book that extends well into the next decade, according to Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo.
This is particularly impressive when you consider that Ferrari has pledged to build around 2000 units per year.
Available in either two- or 2+2-seater format, the California is considered a more practical and everyday Ferrari, although – with a 0-100km/h-sprint time of less than four seconds and a 310km/h top speed – the Maranello company insists that no performance or driving dynamic capabilities have been compromised at the altar of luxury or convenience.
