Ford prices new Everest

FORD Australia has announced pricing of its all-new Everest. The third generation of the Blue Oval’s large SUV, which is based on the new Ranger ute, will retail from $52,990 (plus on-road costs) – an increase of $2900 over the outgoing model.

 

Available in five- and seven-seat configurations and in four trim grades, the Everest offers a range of options and accessories to reflect the vehicle’s cross-purpose utility. A 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel motor is offered in conjunction with two- and four-wheel drive, while the range-topping 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel is 4x4 only.

 

Factory-fit options include 18-inch alloy wheels for the entry-grade Ambiente 4x4 ($1100), all-terrain tyres for Trend 4x4 ($500), 18-inch black-painted alloys shod with all-terrain tyres in lieu of 20-inch wheels and road tyres on Sport 4x4 variants (no-cost option). The same package (with additional steel underbody protection) can substitute 21-inch wheels and road tyres on Platinum variants (also at no cost).

 

Everest Trend 4x4 and Sport 4x4 variants are further available with Ford’s Touring Pack comprising a 360-degree camera, zone lighting and tow bar with integrated electric brake controller ($1950). Alternatively, all variants can be specified with a tow hitch and integrated electric brake controller (without the camera and lighting system) for $1700.

 

Ambiente 4x2 and 4x4 variants may be fitted with a folding third-row seat – which bumps up seating capacity from five to seven – for $950, while Trend 4x2 and 4x4 variants may be optioned with Ford’s Premium Seat Pack, comprising heated and ventilated front seats with 10-way power adjustment for the driver, driver’s seat memory and eight-way power adjustment for the front passenger seat for $900.

 

Prestige paint, which applies to all colours except Arctic White, costs $675 extra.

 

As GoAuto previously reported, the Everest is offered in Ambiente, Trend, Sport and Platinum trim, all of which is available in 4x4 guise. Ambiente and Trend variants are also offered in 4x2 guise in conjunction with the 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-pot, while the 3.0-litre V6 and 4x4 combination is reserved for the higher grade Sport and Platinum.

 

Everest uses the same e-Shifter transmission selector found in high-grade Rangers and, depending on variant, will be offered with up to six selectable drive modes. On-road, these include Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul and Slippery, with additional Sand and Mud/Ruts modes on 4x4 versions, all of which feature a rear differential lock.

 

Braked towing capacity of 3500kg is standard across the Everest line-up, while payload capacity ranges from 654kg through to 741kg, depending on variant (see table below for more information, including GCM and GVM details).

 

Ambiente variants come with 17-inch alloys (with a steel spare), LED headlights and DRLs, front fog lights and taillights, black side steps, auto-folding mirrors, interior volumetric alarm and rain-sensing wipers. The four-wheel drive version ($57,990, plus on-road costs) further feature front tow hooks and steel bash plates.

 

Inside, the Ambiente is offered with the choice of five- or seven seats, manual front seat adjustment, fabric upholstery, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror, pull-out cup holders, tilt and reach steering-column adjustment, an open-style storage shelf, keyless entry and push-button ignition, as well as dual-zone climate control.

 

Standard onboard technology items include an 8.0-inch digital instrument panel, 10.1-inch infotainment array, an embedded modem, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, an eight-speaker audio system, sat-nav, digital radio reception, voice control and remote start via FordPass.

 

Nine airbags, collision mitigation, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot and cross-traffic alert, a reversing camera and auto high beam are among the driver assistance- and safety features fitted on the entry trim grade.

 

Stepping up to the second-tier Trend we find 18-inch alloys with a matching spare, privacy glass on the rear windows, a powered tailgate, mirror heaters and puddle lamps, leather-accented upholstery, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, driver and passenger floor mats and a second glovebox in lieu of the open shelf. The Trend also scores a larger (12.0-inch) infotainment screen.

 

Third-tier Sport variants gain 20-inch black alloy wheels (and a matching spare) with  matching exterior accents, a handsfree tailgate, three-dimensional bonnet lettering, leather-accented upholstery with SPORT embossing, heated and ventilated front seats (10-way electrically adjustable for the driver, 8-way for the front passenger), as well as a 10-speaker audio system.

 

Finally, the flagship Everest Platinum has 21-inch alloy wheels and matching spare with all-season tyres, plastic underbody protection (steel protection a no-cost option in conjunction with optional 18-inch alloy wheels and all-terrain tyres), satin chrome exterior accents, matrix LED headlights with auto-levelling, a dual-pane power panoramic sunroof, silver roof rails, tyre-pressure monitoring and zone lighting.

 

The Platinum variant further receives satin-chrome interior accents, quilted leather upholstery, heated second row seating, powered third-row seat folding, a heated steering wheel, a larger (12.4-inch) digital instrument panel, 360-degree camera and active park assist, premium B&O 12-speaker audio system and LED ambient lighting.

 

The 2022 Ford Everest range will go on sale from midyear.
