DUAL front airbags are standard in all Falcons including the Fairmont Ghia, as well as pyrotechnic seatbelt pretensioners. Falcon wagons (there's no Ghia wagon though) now have a three-point lap-sash belt for centre rear seat passengers. The child's seat anchor in wagons is now located on the seat back rather than on the rear floor. Computer-aided engineering results in a body structure 25 per cent stiffer and 35kg lighter than EL Falcon. Structural upgrades enhance offset front and side impact performance.
