INTEGRATED into the Interior Command Centre is Futura's new standard air-conditioning system, which now features increased efficiency, 14 fan speeds, standard lint filter and an optional pollen filter, and display of major functions in the LCD screen.

A larger compressor and heat exchanger heats or cools air more quickly (150 litres of air per second versus AU's 120) and is delivered to occupants faster through new ventilation outlets, the number of which still betters Commodore by including twin outboard dash vents including lap coolers.

Also closable, the twin central vents continue, as does side glass, front and rear screen and rear footwell ventilation, while the new upper rear occupant vents are larger.

The new AC control unit resides at the bottom of the ICC, and is designed to echo the theme of the audio unit above it, with twin metallic-look rotary knobs at both ends of two rows of push-buttons governing ventilation mode and rear demisting.

Featuring illuminated markings that make them easier to read at a glance than Commodore's similar new system, the large silver knobs operate temperature (left) and fan speed (right), also house the AC and recirculate buttons and make Falcon's superior system even simpler to use.
