THE SR's steering is a power-assisted rack-and-pinion system and was re-engineered at the time of AU to reduce noise and increase feel. Directional stability, particularly in the straight-on position, was achieved by a new steering rack design and changes to the front suspension. AUII's front suspension revamp is also said to produce more precise feedback through the steering wheel. Turning circle is 10.9 metres.
