WHILE Mazda has kept its aggressive body adornments exclusively for its 2.0-litre 323 Astina SP20, Ford has used its unique styling additions on both the equivalent SR2 and the 1.8-litre SR tested here. The SR misses out on 16-inch wheels, colour coded external mirrors, roof rack mountings and front foglights but it certainly makes a statement with the attitudinal front and rear skirts, side rocker mouldings, large high-mounted rear spoiler, big-bore chrome exhaust tip and mesh bumper inserts. The 15-inch alloys standard on SR also attract their fair share of attention.
