MORE than just a sports-oriented makeover, the SR2 goes a step further with its exclusive use of the 2.0-litre engine and suspension modifications that create a greater bias toward handling. While its appearance is sure to appeal to the young and young at heart, perhaps more important is the fact that SR2 is the most complete Laser to date, with full electrics and anti-lock brakes/electronic brake-force distribution part of the standard package. It's just a pity that Ford has shared the bodykit with the SR and used some identifiably Mazda parts to make it look more upmarket inside.
