Recalls for Porsche, Hyundai, Mitsubishi

The Hyundai campaign involves 1526 i20 light cars that have a non-compliant warning labels applied to the vehicle jack, which will be replaced by dealers for affected customers who have been invited to book an appointment.
Mitsubishi is grounding 77 i-MiEV electric cars because the vacuum pump that operates the brake servo may develop a fault.
Only 19 affected vehicles are in customer hands (most are in dealer stock) and there have been no reported incidents in Australia.
According to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) recalls website, a manufacturing process “may have induced a condition that can result in cracking of the pump rotor and or vane”.
“The defect may result in reduced braking capacity and this may increase the risk of an accident occurring,” it says.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia corporate communications manager told GoAuto replacing the pump takes less than an hour.
Owners of affected i-MiEVs are being contacted by email and invited to arrange a replacement with their Mitsubishi dealer.
Porsche is recalling 47 current-generation 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 sportscars to rectify a potential issue with the rear mufflers that could result in the tailpipe becoming detached.
According to the ACCC, “the rear mufflers may not achieve the required service life and may crack”.
“If the defect occurs, the exhaust tailpipe may become detached and pose a hazard to other road users,” says the recall notice.
Letters are being sent to owners of affected vehicles, who are advised to contact their Porsche dealer for inspection and remedial work.
A list of affected Vehicle Identification Numbers for the Porsche recall has been published on www.recalls.gov.au.
