ONE of the best aspects of the three-door model is that it brings the excellent Astra mechanical package to a wider audience. Equipment levels are on the sparse side compared to its Japanese and Korean rivals, however the City three-door hatch - like the five-door model - carries a level of quality and comfort usually reserved for deeply rooted Continental marques. Better looking than the hatch and sedan, it still has a notable amount of safety equipment (sans rear headrests and an ABS option). As with the sedan and five-door, the car's secret is a brilliant combination of performance, handling and refinement.
