THE Astra three-door comes standard with (one-stage) remote central locking that controls the doors, hatch and fuel filler. The key has a "rolling" security code that automatically changes each time it is used and helps prevent unauthorised entry. Furthermore, the interior doorhandles and locks cannot be operated without a key when deadlocked the lock cylinder will "freewheel" if anything other than the correct key is inserted. When the doors are unlocked, the interior light automatically illuminates to assist with entry. The radio is also security coded, while the glovebox cannot be locked.
