HOLDEN’S Astra is back and with a vengeance. The seventh generation to wear that badge since the mid-‘80s, the 2017 hatch brings the most complete and competitive package the company has offered in the small-car class since the popular TS series from 1998 to 2005.
Not coincidentally, both were imported from Opel in Europe, and both are good enough to give Volkswagen Golf buyers a truly worthy alternative.
Especially in the base R auto as tested.
