THE Barina suspension comprises MacPherson struts with triangulated wishbones and gas-filled struts at the front and a torsion beam configuration with trailing arms and coil springs at the rear. Close attention has been paid to the damping bushes at the front - the aim being to provide more precision wheel control - while a more complex hydro-mount attached to the front wishbones and supported by the subframe is also used to increase ride comfort and refinement. Spring rates and stabiliser bars have also been tuned to deliver a good ride/handling combination Barina uses a 22 newtons per millimetre spring rate at the front axle and has 17mm diameter stabiliser bars front and rear.
