BARINA is now fitted with speed-dependent electric (as opposed to hydraulic) power steering as standard across the range. The system aims to take effort out of turning the wheel when parking, while retaining good feel at higher speeds when little power assistance is required. A computer continuously evaluates information on driver-applied steering input, current road speed and engine speed to calculate the level of assistance required. The turning circle is 9.9 metres and 2.9 turns are required from lock to lock.
