Holden recalls Captiva for faulty brake pedal clip

HOLDEN has issued a national recall notice on its recently released Captiva four-wheel drive for a faulty brake pedal retaining clip.

The recall affects 2134 models built between June 14 and December 11 last year. About 1500 have actually been delivered to customers with the remainder in dealerships across the country.

According to Product Recalls Australia if the clip is not present, "the brake pedal may separate from the actuator rod with a loss in braking capability".

In some cases, the retaining clip connecting the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may be missing in the off-roader.

The recall affects vehicles in the Vehicle Identification Number range of KL3CD26GJ7B002590 - KL3CD26GJ7B046492 and KL3DD26GJ7B012509 - KL3DD26GJ7B046283.

Holden is contacting the owners of all affected vehicles. A replacement clip takes about 15 minutes to fit.

The Captiva was launched in October and the company is selling almost 600 a month.
