GM HOLDEN has created a 60th Anniversary Special Edition of its VE Ute, which will be launched at the National 4x4 Show in Brisbane this week ahead of a mid-May showroom debut.

Timed to coincide with Ford’s FG Falcon ute launch, the limited-edition Holden ute is based on the SV6 model variant and carries extra equipment worth a claimed $2000.

Pricing starts from $36,990 for the manual and $37,990 for the automatic, which is $1000 above the standard SV6 asking price.

The additional features include partial leather seat trim, aluminium facings for the foot pedals, a “sports profile” steering wheel, six-disc in-dash MP3-compatible CD stereo, and Bluetooth mobile phone integration.

Holden has also produced 60th Anniversary floor mats and a decal for the tailgate.

The ute will be available in the following colours: Heron White, Redhot, Karma metallic, Atomic metallic, Nitrate metallic, Phantom metallic, Voodoo metallic, and Crunch metallic. Metallic paint adds $400.
