Encore for Commodore SS wagon

BY MALCOLM LIVERMORE | 8th Apr 2004

FOLLOWING the sell-out success of the limited edition Commodore SS wagon launched last May, Holden will launch a VY Series II version of the most powerful Holden wagon ever on May 1.

Once again SS wagon will offer the full sports treatment and a new colour, but this time with an extra 10kW of peak power from its 245kW 5.7-litre V8.

Production will be limited to just 350 vehicles, each of which will be distinguished by 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, low profile tyres and sports front facia with slim grille, circular foglights, black bezel headlights, front sculptured rocker mouldings, rear facia skirt, SS badging, body-coloured roof rails and dust deflector.

Buyers have a choice of two metallic exterior finishes: Phantom Black, teamed with red leather interior trim or, for the first time, Quicksilver, complemented by Anthracite black leather interior trim.

Priced at $52,490, SS wagon will be available in six-speed manual or four-speed auto guise, complete with FE2 sports suspension, limited-slip differential, traction control, a full-length twin performance exhaust system and the usual SS equipment list as standard.
