THE very basic instrument cluster sits in a shallow pod surrounded by hard-surfaced plastics. There's an outer metal-look silver surround for the pod as well as what Holden calls a "satin silver" finish which is around the cluster itself. The cluster is dominated by two large dials, the left is for speedo and the right for tacho. The dial backgrounds are black, the lettering white and the needles white and silver. The speedo graduates in 20km/h numerals with 5km/h markings, the tacho goes up in 1000rpm numerals, with 250rpm markings. Coolant temperature and fuel gauges are on the right. Warning lights, indicators and so on are above and below the central dials, while the odo/tripmeter is in a rectangular box in the base of the speedo. The indicator/headlight stalk sits in the orthodox position on the right side of the steering column, while the wiper/washer functions are on a stalk on the left, including the control for the rear seat wiper. The power mirror controls, instrument light adjuster and the foglight button are mounted on the dash panel to the lower right of the instrumnet cluster.
