SE Jackaroos have shift-on-the-fly 4WD selectable via a switch on the dash at speeds up to 100km/h. It's a basic 4WD setup, not a constant 4WD arrangement as seen in Land Rover Discovery or Toyota Prado, and is not intended for use on dry, sealed roads. The upmarket Monterey uses a more sophisticated "torque on demand" system that apportions power between front and rear wheels as the road surface dictates.
