MONARO CV8 wears 235/40-section rubber on unique-to-Holden 18 x 8.0-inch alloy wheels, instead of the CV6's 17-inch wheel/tyre combo as also seen on Commodore SS. Holden says the CV8's big alloys are of a new design, but they also appeared on HSV's VT GTS, the VTII ClubSport R8, the current ClubSport and Maloo, and various limited edition models in between - albeit with a gold finish as opposed to their pewter colour on CV8. Three 17-inch alloy wheel designs are optional for CV6.
