WITH 36 Rodeo variants on offer there are a lot of engines and transmissions to choose from.
There is the base 2.2-litre petrol, a 3.2-litre V6 petrol, a 2.8-litre Tdi diesel and a new 3.0-litre Tdi diesel with intercooler.
There is also four transmissions in the line-up and these, like the engines, depend on which body shape you choose, as auto is not an option across the range. Holden has used two manuals and two autos to cover the four engines.
This is achieved by using the same manual gearbox in the 3.2-litre V6 petrol, 2.8-litre Tdi diesel and 3.0-litre Tdi diesel, and altering the final drive ratios of the differentials to control engine revs and response.
Using the same transmission in its 4x2 and 4x4 vehicles shows the confidenence Holden has in its manual gearbox, while two autos cover the remainder of the options such as the 3.2-litre V6 petrol and the 3.0-litre Tdi diesel.
