WITH its stretched body and long wheelbase, the Statesman is an imposing presence on the road. A distinct grille separates it visually from Commodores, as does the revised glasshouse with window extensions past the rear doors and the extended rear deck with its individual boot profile and tail-light treatment. The licence plate is located in its own frame on the rear bumper. Series II models also have jewelled headlamps with complex reflectors and a clear polycarbonate lens, new multi-spoke alloy wheels, wider chrome window surrounds and new rear badging. A new rectangular grille texture sets the Series II Statesman further apart.
