THE Accord's V6 engine is clearly Honda in concept, although it is not based on the 3.5-litre engine used in the Legend. It is located transversely in the engine bay, with a 60-degree V-angle with perfectly square bore/stroke dimensions, and is all-alloy. It employs Honda's effective VTEC technology, in this case switching into performance mode around 3500rpm to give a more seamless transition than in higher-performance VTECs as seen in the Integra-R or the S2000. Honda says it is narrower than other respected V6s from Nissan or Toyota.
