THE CR-V uses a power-assisted rack and pinion steering system. The turning circle is 10.6 metres - quite adequate for this size of four-wheel drive - and requires 3.2 turns lock to lock. Like the HR-V, the CR-V steering system features a compact rotary valve for sensitivity to hydraulic pressure control.

The amount of power assistance is automatically controlled in accordance with the front wheels' resistance to steering force. This helps with positive steering feeling, linear steering response and straight-line stability.
