THE central feature of the dash is a hooded instrument pod housing an elaborate electronic instrument display. The display has an unmistakably large digital display for the speedo, flanked by analogue graphics for the tacho and coolant (on the left) and a three-tiered arc showing fuel, battery charge and the IMA (integrated motor assist) charge/assist indicator that illustrates whether the IMA system is being recharged or is supplying power to the electric motor. Underneath the speedo sits a display that can show the odometer/trip reading, a lifetime fuel-economy readout and a bar graph that gives instantaneous fuel economy from 0-150 km/h per litre. Various display modes are available. An economy shift-indicator with arrows for upshifts and downshifts is located under the charge/assist indicator and is designed to give the driver a reference for fuel-saving gearchanges.
