THE Integra conmes standard with a new five-speed manual transmission or it can be optioned with a five-speed sequential shift automatic. The manual gearbox is equipped with a short-stroke shift linkage for faster shifting and smoother operation. The sequential auto is also new, replacing a traditonal four-speed auto. The auto provides the option of manual shifting by moving the tranmsmission lever to the right of "D" into the manual mode gate. The manual-mode will cut fuel and then upshift if there is a danger of over-revving. It will also shift into first automatically when stopped. The auto uses Honda's Grade Logic Control which adjusts the shift schedule for improved climbing or downhill braking power.
