TWIN front airbags are standard on the R. Anti-lock brakes are part of the excellent braking package. Doors are fitted with intrusion beams, plus special hip pads to help protect passengers in a side impact. Type R has a rigid, monocoque body. The indicator lights in the front bumper are designed to move back without damage in a minor accident. Front bumpers are designed to absorb impacts up to 8km/h.
