CHILDREN can be such harsh critics, able to pick the flaws in a car with almost surgical precision - car-makers should really talk to them.

Stuff such as steeply raked window lines that make it hard to see out, the lack of 12-volt charge points, hard upright seats that lack lateral support and more are all announced within minutes of starting a trip.

It is a reason parents should include children in any test drive of a new car, and it is also why I like forcing my tribe into the rear rows of any vehicle I test.

Their insights, arrived to swiftly and with little bias, are generally spot-on.

I’m wondering, then, what they’d think of this, the latest generation of Honda’s Odyssey people-mover.
