VXR priced under $43K

HOLDEN Special Vehicles revealed a $42,990 pricetag for its first legitimate hot-hatch, the 177kW/320Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged Astra VXR, stocks of which have already hit HSV showrooms.

Claimed 0-100km/h acceleration for the front-drive six-speed manual-only model is 6.4 seconds.

Standard features include 19-inch alloys, Recaro sports seats and an IDS chassis control system comprising ESP, traction control, ABS and brake assist.
