OFFICIAL Holden hot-shop HSV is celebrating the build of its 75,000th vehicle, a ClubSport sedan finished in Perfect Blue, shortly after passing the 25-year milestone in July last year.

Top-selling HSV dealership, Shacks HSV in Fremantle, WA, has been selected to receive the car, which comes with a unique build plate and personalised letter of authentication from HSV managing director Phil Harding.

It took HSV four years to build its first 5000 cars, that milestone passed in June 1991 with a VN T30 that preceded the Clubsport.

Six years later the 20,000 mark was passed, with another 20,000 built by August 2003 before HSV hit the 50,000 units in mid-2006.

Not a brand known for slowing down, it took HSV less than seven years to build the next 25,000 muscle-cars that brought the company to where it is today.

HSV started building cars in July 1987 at Notting Hill in Melbourne, where 12,426 vehicles were manufactured before the company moved to its current Clayton premises in December 1994.
