Elantra has automatic for the people

BY JAMES STANFORD | 22nd Aug 2007

HYUNDAI is offering free automatic transmissions to boost interest in its Elantra small car.

The offer is available in all states except South Australia and the Northern Territory where dealers already have in place drive-away pricing for the Elantra.

Residents of other states who purchase the SX and SLX Elantra models will be able to choose an automatic transmission for free.

Normally, choosing the self-shifting option would cost $2000.

The Elantra Elite already comes standard with an automatic transmission, so anyone who purchases that car will receive $2000 off the purchase price.

The Elantra range starts off with the SX model at $19,990.
