HYUNDAI has released teaser drawings of a forthcoming rear-wheel drive coupe, which is expected to reach our roads some time in 2009.
However, it will appear in the metal for the first time as a concept car at the 2007 Los Angeles International Auto Show on November 14.
The South Korean car-maker confirmed in a brief statement this week that the Concept Genesis Coupe to be revealed in LA “hints at design direction for a future rear-wheel drive sports coupe from Hyundai”.
As a possible replacement for the current Tiburon coupe, we understand it will be built on the same platform as the Genesis four-door sedan due for release next year, which is to be available with either a 3.8-litre V6 engine or a 4.6-litre V8 driving through a six-speed automatic.
Hyundai provided no further information on the new coupe ahead of its Los Angeles world debut.
