Trophy for Hyundai’s i30

BY MARTON PETTENDY | 10th Aug 2010

HYUNDAI has released a limited-edition ‘Trophy’ versions of its popular i30 hatch and wagon, offering a range of extra standard equipment for $1500 more than the entry-level 2.0-litre i30 SX models upon which they are based.

Priced at $21,490 for the five-door manual ($23,490 auto) and $22,990 for the manual wagon ($24,990 auto), both Trophy models are differentiated by 16-inch titanium-grey alloy wheels (including a matching full-size spare), front foglights, ‘Trophy’ badging and, on the hatch, a rear spoiler.

Inside, the Trophy special-edition, which is available in four exterior paint colours (Ceramic White, Shine Red, Vivid Blue and Hyper Silver), adds cruise control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshifter.

Metallic/mica paint continues to be a $320 option for the i30 Trophy hatch and wagon, with 500 examples of each model to be available.

Like all i30s, the Trophy comes standard with electronic stability/traction control, ABS brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, six airbags, air-conditioning, remote central locking, power windows/mirrors and AUX/USB/iPod audio connectivity.
