Infiniti opens another Sydney outlet

INFINITI Cars Australia has announced its third new customer outlet in a fortnight, this time in Sydney's southwest.

To be operated by leading Sydney automotive retailer Peter Warren Group, the new sales and service outlet at Warwick Farm brings the number of Infiniti retail centres in Sydney to three, giving Australia's biggest city the most comprehensive coverage on any state capital.

By contrast, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth have only one Infiniti dealership each, while Adelaide has only a service centre, in North Adelaide.

The Gold Coast has a small shop-front retail brand centre, at Robina, operated as a branch of the Brisbane Infiniti dealership.

Infiniti Cars Australia's website indicates another Infiniti outlet, for Canberra, is said to be coming soon, taking national Infiniti locations to nine.

Infiniti also is said to have plans to expand in Melbourne, although these arrangements are under wraps.

The new Sydney operation will provide both vehicle sales and service at Peter Warren's sprawling automotive complex on the Hume Highway – famous for its 'Sydney Harbour Bridge' replica entry.

Interestingly, Peter Warren Group does not have a dealership for Infiniti's parent brand, Nissan, among the 21 brands it handles.

Infiniti Centre South West Sydney will start sales this month from a temporary facility, with a dedicated retail showroom to open in June.

The two other Sydney dealerships are the original Infiniti Centre Sydney, in the CBD, and the recently announced Infiniti Centre Castle Hill, in Sydney's northwest.

Infiniti Cars Australia managing director Jean-Philippe Roux said southwest Sydney was one of Australia's most important regions.

“Our premium brand will be located at one of Australia’s longest-standing and best-known automotive retail precincts at Peter Warren Automotive Group, bringing our brand to the many thousands of customers who visit this iconic Sydney site each year,” he said.

Peter Warren Group CEO Paul Warren said Infiniti's growth potential in Australia was obvious.

“The brand’s forthcoming model additions are very exciting and sure to deliver exactly what Australian premium vehicle buyers expect,” he said.

Along with expanding its retail footprint, Infiniti is rapidly expanding its range. Its all-new Q30 small car will arrive in the second half of this year, followed by the crossover version, the QX30.

Later this year, the all-new Q60 sports coupe and updated Q50 sports sedan will arrive, debuting Infiniti's new high-performance 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that has just gone into production.

Last year, Infiniti sales in Australia grew 30 per cent, to 574 units. So far this year, sales are up a further 3.5 per cent.
