SMALL hatchbacks and SUVs are all the rage right now, and at last Infiniti has woken up to that fact with the Q30 – a jumped-up five-door alternative to the Audi A3 Sportback, BMW 1 Series, and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
Basing it on the latter brand’s A-Class platform was a masterstroke of good fortune (and great genes), and the execution is surprisingly effective – save for an anomaly or two.
If you are considering any of the German offerings, the Infiniti Q30 in sub-$40K 1.6t GT guise is well worth a look.
