THERE is a place in the automotive world for the Infiniti Q50 3.0t Sport Premium.
It might not initially seem that way, given that the premium medium passenger car class is jammed with everything from the German Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class triumvirate, to the British Jaguar XE and fellow Japanese Lexus IS.
While these established players have a stronghold on the class, they typically play to the same specification. Until now so has Infiniti. This new Q50 3.0t Sport Premium, however, offers twin-turbo V6 power for the price of everyone’s single-turbo four-cylinder or non-turbo V6 – that is, sub-$70K.
As US-upstart Tesla has proven, daring to be different and doing it well pays dividends. Infiniti could, too, with this snappy sedan.
