IUA extends customer support program

ISUZU Ute Australia has announced an evolution of its Service Plus aftersales care program this week, improving vehicle ownership for IUA customers with a “more transparent and cost-effective servicing program”.

The Brisbane-based automotive importer has for several years offered a six-year/150,000km new vehicle warranty with seven-year roadside assistance and capped-price servicing program. From here out, and in line with feedback from Australian media and Isuzu Ute owners, the program will change to offer a Flat Price Servicing schedule for eligible customers.

Service intervals remain fixed at 12 months or 15,000km (whichever comes first), however, the Flat Price Servicing schedule means eligible MY24 Isuzu D-Max and MU-X models may be serviced from just $449 per year, totalling $2245 over five years of ownership of 75,000km distance.

IUA says the changes equate to a saving of $310 or 12 per cent when compared with the previous arrangement.

“More transparent and cost-effective than the outgoing Capped Price Servicing program, the improved five-year Flat Price Servicing program aligns with the typical ownership term, with IUA's customer experience surveys indicating that the majority of Isuzu owners typically update their Isuzu every five years, more often than not, to another Isuzu,” said IUA in a statement.

“Introduced well over a decade ago, IUA’s Service Plus program has undergone several evolutions over the years, with IUA one of the first vehicle brands in Australia to introduce a five-year warranty to the market through the Service Plus program in 2012—coinciding with the local debut of the second-generation D-Max.

“That offering has evolved to the current program that has been in place since late-2020, offering a six-year warranty, seven-year roadside assistance, and a seven-year Capped Price Servicing program. Providing customers with the ultimate peace of mind, the new Service Plus program encompasses five-years of Flat Price Servicing, a six-year/150,000km warranty, and up to seven-years of roadside assistance.”

Speaking on the benefits of the newly introduced Flat Price Servicing schedule, Isuzu Ute Australia managing director Junta Matsui said the transparency the new program offers IUA customers will continue to be of benefit well into the future.

"For over 15 years, we've continually evolved both our vehicles and customer care initiatives, always prioritising the needs and usage cases of our customers,” he said.

“We know that our customers choose to purchase an Isuzu due to the versatility, capability, and value that only these vehicles provide. Our updated Service Plus program with a clear and concise Flat Price Servicing schedule continues that reassurance.

“Our valued customers know exactly how much it will cost to maintain their 2024 Isuzu D-Max or MU-X each year, and the fact that it'll save them over 12 per cent in maintenance over five years of motoring.”

IUA says that with more than 300,000 Isuzu vehicles on Australian roads, its expansive network of over 160 dealership sites caters to the needs of nearly a quarter of a million Australians, offering the essential service and care required to maintain peak performance of their Isuzu D-Max utes and MU-X SUVs.
