A FAR cry indeed from the Jaguars of old is the new F-Pace, where once upon a time a wagon would have been considered heresy by the crusty old veterans at the Coventry HQ.

Not only have they dabbled in that segment – albeit briefly – they’ve gone the whole hog in jumping feet first into the SUV ranks with a genuine contender.

With plenty of knowledge from its Land Rover stablemate no doubt being applied, the Jag crew’s effort isn’t going to trouble the Green Oval’s serious off-roaders but there will be plenty eyeing off the sharply-styled feline over the less svelte Land Rover offerings.
