JAGUAR effectively relaunched itself globally with the XF mid-size executive express back in 2008 and since then the Indian-owned British marque has gone from strength to strength.
The XJ became a genuine rival for the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the F-Type Cabriolet and Coupe is a winner with critics and consumers alike. The 3 Series-sized XE due for local release next year looks set to continue Jaguar's good fortunes.
With its main competitors either halfway through or nearing the end of their life-cycles, we thought we would revisit the XF in 3.0-litre diesel guise and in mid-spec Luxury trim to see how it stacks up ahead of the second-generation version that should see daylight next year.
