Jaguar stretches XF Sportbrake teaser campaign

Revealed as part of a promotional video, small details can be glimpsed on the disguised pre-production vehicle, including a roof-mounted rear spoiler and slick rear glasshouse.
Also glimpsed in the video is a power-operated tailgate, likely to be offered as an option or standard on higher-spec versions of the XF Sportbrake.
As expected, the front end retains the same styling as the XF sedan sibling with slim headlights, sculpted bonnet, prominent front grille and large lower air intakes.
From the rear, the XF Sportbrake also appears to sport the sedan’s black plastic diffuser with cut-outs to accommodate the exhaust outlets and, while the tail-light design is camouflaged, the big-booted XF is also likely to wear the same sleek wraparound rear lamps.
The released video shows the prototype Jaguar travelling to a remote tennis court in Scotland after a fan tweeted an image of the facility to Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
Last month, Jaguar Australia product public affairs manager James Scrimshaw confirmed the new XF Sportbrake would make it to local showrooms later this year after the first-generation model missed out on an Australian release.
Although no details have been revealed about the upcoming model, expect to see the XF wagon released with engine options mirroring its sedan counterpart to compete against the BMW 5 Series Touring, Audi A6 Avant and Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo.
In sedan guise, the XF range kicks off with a 132kW/430Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel before moving up to a 177kW/340Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four cylinder and 250kW/450Nm supercharged 3.0-litre V6.
Flagship S variants can be optioned with a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel which produces 220kW/700Nm or an up-tuned version of the supercharged petrol V6 which pumps out 280kW/450Nm.
