The man who penned the original Audi TT has given the Kia Cee'd some top-down sparkle.
Kia unveiled a convertible version of its new Cee'd hatch, called the Excee'd, at the Geneva motor show last week.
It was designed by Kia’s new design chief, Peter Schreyer.
At this stage, the Excee'd is just a concept car, but could be introduced as part of Kia’s plan lift its profile in Europe.
Even if the drop-top was approved for production it is unlikely that the car would come to Australia, given the regular Cee'd hatch, which is built in Slovakia, is a Europe-only model.
Unlike most new convertibles that run a folding metal hard-top, the four-seater Excee'd is fitted with a fabric lid, which allows for a short boot.
“I'm convinced that the fabric roof will have a renaissance and for me, it is the fabric roof that is the quintessential element of a truly rewarding cabrio,” Mr Schreyer said.
