KIA didn't go wild with the colour chart for the Optima's interior. The seats, armrests, doors and lidded bin in the centre console are finished in a dark grey velour-style cloth with light grey and black speckled through it. It feels better than it looks or sounds. The grey is relieved by a polished metal-look bezel for the automatic gearbox lever, while there's also some black plastic scattered about. Dual knobs adjust the height of the driver's seat, but the front passenger misses out on this feature. The power window and door locks are situated on the driver's door armrest. Everyone benefits from wide opening doors and rear seat passengers can tuck their feet under the front seats to improve leg room. A nice touch is the metal kick-plates at each door.
