Kingsley Re-Engineered unveils latest Defender

KINGSLEY RE-ENGINEERED has unveiled what it says is its ‘definitive’ Defender models line at the prestigious Salon Privé Blenheim Palace Concours, UK, this week.

 

According to its maker, the handcrafted and meticulously presented Defender series is designed for modern drivers the world over and is available in short- and long-wheelbase configurations.

 

With an emphasis on performance – care of a high torque 4.2-litre V8 engine – the Defender is aimed at city and country buyers alike, and leaves “no stone unturned” in its modernisation, each vehicle crafted with an estimated 1500 hours of “meticulous attention to detail”.

 

Performance sees the D90 specification Defender shown capable of accelerating from standstill to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds, the engine offering 164kW of power and 360Nm of torque. Available with an eight-speed automatic transmission – or the choice of Chevrolet-sourced LS3 or LT1 V8 power – the combination is far more exciting than the original four-cylinder.

 

To successfully control the additional output on offer, Kingsley Re-engineering has equipped the Defender series with “significantly upgraded” suspension and brakes. The combination offers electronically controlled active damping, large diameter disc brakes, lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels, and BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres.

 

Inside, the Kingsley Defender is “designed to be both a sanctuary and a command centre” with handcrafted attention to detail and advanced technology throughout.

 

Refurbished original trim is available alongside optional Nappa and Alcantara combination upholstery, the Salon Privé example boasting sandstone coloured leather with Spinneybeck leather weave centres, an updated instrument panel, and modern conveniences including Apple CarPlay.

 

The manufacturer offers an extensive catalogue of bespoke interior and exterior colour combinations from which to choose, while also offering PPF and ceramic coating options for those intent on using the Defender for the purpose for which it was designed.

Further customisation options for the Kingsley Defender including a choice of hard top roof, full canvas cover, or bikini-style top (as shown). Heated seats, tyre pressure monitoring, “various audio solutions”, and big-brake packages are also offered.

 

Since its inception in 2011, Kingsley Re-engineered has restored and rebuilt over 500 classic Range Rover and Land Rover models. It says it is deeply passionate about the process and is excited to offer both D90 and D110 configurations to order worldwide, with prices starting from £140,000 ($A272,000).
